After two decades in the photography industry, I realized that some of the things that make styling great are also our greatest challenges. The independence, the creativity, the variety of work—they're incredible. But they also mean we're often working alone, figuring everything out for ourselves.
When I started talking to other stylists, I discovered we were all dealing with the same things: searching for specialty resources, navigating client relationships, wondering if we were charging enough, getting recognized for our work. Each of us had figured out solutions that others were still looking for. We all had valuable knowledge and were genuinely willing to share it, but there was nowhere to do that.
Our work doesn't naturally create space for stylists to connect, and when we do cross paths, we're usually too busy with the job at hand to talk about much else. We could be learning from each other's experiences. We could have a unified voice on industry standards. Instead, we're all navigating this separately. We need a real community.
That's what I’m building—an organization designed specifically for stylists, whether you work in props, wardrobe, food or interiors. A place for those who want to elevate their craft and be part of a community that understands the realities of this work.
Beyond connection, we're committed to education. From mastering the business side of styling to understanding how to work effectively with photographers, producers, and clients, we're creating resources that help you build a sustainable, thriving career.
We're also here to advocate. For too long, stylists have lacked collective power when it comes to establishing fair industry standards. Together, we can create transparency around rates, develop contract best practices, and ensure our work is valued appropriately.
When we share information and stand together, we all benefit.
I hope you’ll join us,
